Chelsey Scheffe created the initial concept (pictured at the bottom) as an illustration for Slayer Espresso Machines, and they asked me to modify it for use on a t-shirt and to brand it for their new annual summit series.
Sub-branding project for the Slayer Steam line of espresso machines. Based on Slayer’s love of music, this brand direction combined the terminology of the recording industry with the three tiers of machine models.
Brand theme for Slayer’s secondary tagline “Solving for X”, which alludes to their aim to pick an aspect of a barista’s job (X) and create a solution using their advances in product design, as depicted in the icon set.
Slayer asked for a playing card-themed illustration for an invitation of a co-hosted event during HOST Milano 2019.
